Sitting posture reflects the way muscles and bones are used in sitting in an upright position to support the upper body weight against the pull of the Earth’s gravity. While maintaining the body posture in standing and sitting position we are working against the pull of gravity.

The body has weight because of the pull of gravity. Supporting our own body weight is a work against the pull of the Earth’s gravity.

Doing physical activity or designed exercises for thirty or sixty minutes a day is meaningless amount of physical work compared to all day long work of the entire musculoskeletal system just to support the body weight against the pull of the Earth’s gravity.
